Last night

I am going to write more about my week but I wrote this one and wanted to put it up now but more to come later..

So tonight is the last night and I am sitting here in the common area and I can hear people in the kitchen area laughing and having a good old time. I have been so blessed to have been able to come on this trip. The people that I came with are the best. They are so funny and keep me laughing all the time there is never a dull moment here. I am definitely going to miss everyone being together and laughing. Most of all I am going to miss the adventures and the unknown of what my day has in store for me. There have been so many wonderful experiences that I have been a part of this week that I feel so blessed to be a part of. It makes me sad to think that I have been here for almost a week and that I leave in the morning. I always think back about my week whenever I go on a mission trip and wonder if I have taken in everything that I can. I hope and pray that I have.. Look back on this trip and believe I truly have taken everything in that I could. Today I went to the special school and the kids there were so much fun.. they were so sweet and funny. One of the little boys was so cute he would give you a kiss if he would want something. He really wanted suckers that I had he had four and wanted more so I told him no and he started to pout and give me a hug to see if that would change my mind.. It did not happen and even though I did not give him any he still hugged on me and wanted to be around me. All in all this trip has been amazing it is hard to put into words what this trip means to me all I can say is I love it here and I am so glad I got the chance to come. I will never forget what I have learned and seen here.

Monday

We woke up and had breakfast. Colette, Holly, and I stayed at the mission to work on your survey that we were doing for credit. We had to go to the internet cafĂ© to get the internet because the mission’s internet was down. We printed our paper and headed back to go through the hundred questions that we had to pick the best 20 (that was a little challenging to say the least.) We then had lunch and after lunch we went to a ladies house who makes pottery out of black clay the pottery is absolutely amazing and I got a couple of pieces for my mom and me. Then we ventured around the town a little bit and Benny showed us and told us about the town and some of the history. Then we went back to the mission and had dinner. The dinner was absolutely amazing it was chicken with bean and rice and this jalapeno sauce that is to die for. Then we had a wind down meeting to talk about the day which was great. It was neat to hear the stories of the other people and what kind of day they had. I just love our time that we have together and look forward to the rest of our week.

March 7th

Woke up at 6 to get ready for the day. We ate breakfast then walked around and relaxed at the hotel until our ride got there. We all piled into two vans the one that I was in was the smaller of the two and had the most people. It was fun but a little crowded and bumpy but we had a good time laughing it up and joking. We were headed to go ZIPLINING!!! It was so much FUN!! The guides there were amazing and funny. There were 9 stations all together. On some of them I was going so fast that I did not think that I was going to be able to stop and I would run into the tree, but the guides would stop us with their bodies. On a couple of them, some of the girls went superman style which they called super chick for us girls. One of the guides David was so funny and kept asking me if I wanted to do it. I finally got up the courage to go for it. (Go Big Or Go Home right?) It was so cool going super chick I was scared to death but so exhilarating at the same time. After Zip lining we went and had lunch at Tip-top chicken. Then from there we went to the market to do our shopping for the trip. Collet and I were shopping buddies and went through the market. At first we were by ourselves but them Tony came along and was our personal shopper. He was great and took us to the best places in the market he explained to us the difference between shops and all that. He was wonderful and so nice he started joking with us the He was our boyfriend. It was funny. After we were done shopping we got back in the van to head to Jinotega it was a 2 ½ hour drive. It was long but fun I fell asleep for a little bit. We finally got to the Mission to put our stuff down and then go to Church. The Church was great I did not understand a word that they said but the people there were wonderful and would come up to introduce themselves. Their singing was great and they sang some songs in English for us. The little kids were so cute and adorable. After church we went and had dinner which we were all ready for (we were starving!!) after dinner we had a meeting to discuss the next day activities. After the meeting we got ready for bed. It was a long and eventful day. I would not want it any other way

We are off

Here we go……. So we left the dorm at like 11:30 to get to the airport Ashel, Holly, and I sat in the back of the van which was not a good idea. It was very bumpy it felt as if we were in the back of a bus that had no shocks. We made up a new dance to it. Lol... We got to the airport 3 hours early so after we got to our gate we went and got food and just waited, everyone pulled out their computer and started their blog. We were all starting to get to know one another better as we sat there waiting for our plane. We boarded the plane to Huston. The plane ride was normal and really uneventful. Everyone though brought cameras for their projects and as you look down the aisle all you could see was people holding their cameras ready to capture a moment. I told Holly that I have a feeling that this trip is going to very well documented. The flight attendant was funny and told everyone that if they were to take a picture of him for them to wait until he could strike a model pose. SO we landed in Huston just in enough time to get off and run to our next flight to NICARAGUA!!! We boarded Ashel, Holly, and I were seated in the very back for the third time the trip. at first we thought that is would be great but then the people started coming to visit us as they need to go to the bathroom we felt like the greeting committee some people came more than once which was not cool. I mean it was only a 2 ½ hour flight so not that long but some people just could not hold it very well they had small bladders. By the end of the ride it started smelling so bad I tried to fall asleep but every time the bathroom door would open I would get hit with the smell of it and wake up. We landed and went through customs with no problem, then we went to our hotel room had a little meeting then headed to bed.
